Producing a documentary about climate change requires confronting the environmental impact of the production itself.

Creative responsibilty

  • Travelling to Iceland, transporting equipment and operating on location all generated emissions. We do not claim that this expedition was impact-free, and we do not believe that carbon credits erase the emissions already produced.

    Our approach was to reduce our footprint where practical, protect the glacier during production and take responsibility for the emissions we could not avoid.

  • The expedition was carried out under the guidance of an experienced Icelandic glacier and adventure guide.

  • The highline was installed using temporary anchors drilled into the ice. After filming, the line, anchors and all associated equipment were removed. The team cleaned the working area and left no permanent rigging or production materials behind. There was no damage done to the environment.

  • The crossing location was selected with consideration for the glacier’s condition, the team’s safety and the surrounding environment.


5 tonnes of CO₂e

This estimate included international travel, ground transportation and the principal activities associated with the production.

To take responsibility for these emissions, we purchased and retired five Verified Emission Reductions associated with the BaumInvest Mixed Reforestation Project in Costa Rica.

The credits were retired on 20 July 2026 through the Gold Standard Impact Registry under order number GSM32606.

Purchasing credits is a mechanism for supporting independently verified climate action alongside efforts to reduce direct emissions.
